The Customer dashboard now includes two new options : 1. Reset Old license (for v3.0 and v4.0 only) This option can be used to reset the udiMagic license from the Server, if the user is unable to surrender the license using the licensing utility. Earlier, the udiMagic v3.0 / v4.0 users had to write to us by email for reset of the license. PS: a. This option is applicable for udiMagic v3.0 and v4.0 (i.e. old versions) only. b. There is no need / option to surrender license in the latest udiMagic software. 2. Ratings (for v9.0 onwards) This option is for Rating the udiMagic software and providing feedback / review. It is requested of the udiMagic users to provide their feedback / review and rate the udiMagic software. We recently evaluated the udi-Magic Software by importing bulk records from Excel into Tally ERP 9 . Recently, we noticed that the GSTR-1 report displays duplicate State names in the table B2C (Small) Invoices . Here's a screen snapshot of it. The aforesaid problem occurs when Sales data is imported using udi-Magic Software wherein the State Name is specified in mixed letters. Example: GUJARAT, Gujarat, gujarat. Query I have imported the StockItems using the Master-StockItemMaster.xls template; but while printing the Invoice, the Tax Computation (at the bottom) is NOT displayed / printed. Solution In the Master-StockItemMaster.xls file, put 0 (zero) in the Column CESS-RATE (Column AV) and then re-import the data from Master-StockItemMaster.xls. Next, re-print the Invoice.

The aforesaid problem has been resolved by Tally Solutions in  Tally ERP 9 Release 6.0.2  View this  video ; or Read the release notes of Tally ERP 9 Release 6.0.2 as shown below : Release Notes The HSN/SAC was not displayed in the printed invoice when it was recorded with: o       Stock items predefined with HSN/SAC. o       Sales/purchase ledgers predefined only with tax rate and not the HSN/SAC. This issue is resolved. Now, if the HSN/SAC is not defined in the sales/purchase ledger, but is available in any of the masters linked to the transaction, the same will be printed in the invoice.

A new option " Allow inclusive of tax for stock Items " has been included in Tally ERP 9 Release 5.0 onwards. This allows you to prepare Sales Invoice with Rate inclusive of VAT. Tally ERP 9 Release 5.0 1. Go to Stockitem  creation/alteration 2. Press F12 [Config]. This displays the Stockitem Configuration screen as shown underneath : Tally ERP 9 Release 5.0 3. Query: I am importing Sales/Purchase Vouchers with StockItems  using one of the Standard templates provided with udi-Magic. For a specific voucher in the XLS file, the UOM is specified as "Nos", but when I check the entry imported in Tally, it shows the UOM incorrectly as "Kgs". Ans: This would happen if the StockItem already exists in Tally with UOM as Kgs . You must manually change the UOM in the StockItem Master. And this is only possible if there are no vouchers entries for that StockItem.

The aforesaid error generally appears while : Uploading "StockItem Masters" into a Tally Company; which already contains the same StockItem but with a different unit of measurement. Here's a example : StockItem with name " Item A " exists in Tally Company having Unit of Measurement (UOM) as " Nos" . Let's now try to  modify it's UOM to Kgs . As you can see below,  the cursor does NOT go the the Unit field . Remarks: This is a restriction in Tally Software. You cannot alter the UOM of a StockItem if one or more records / vouchers exist which contain that StockItem

Of late, we noticed some changes in the Ledger Entry screen while creating "Additional Tax" ledger. The same is as follows : Tally ERP 9 Release 5.4 As you can see, in Tally ERP 9 Release 5.4, the "Type of duty" is to be set as "Additional Tax". Tally ERP 9 Release 4.93 In Tally ERP 9 Release 4.93, the "Type of duty" is to be set as "VAT" and "Additional Tax" is to be specified in another field "Method of Calculation". And here is the difference in the XML tags : Tally ERP 9 Release 5.4 TAXTYPE : Additional Tax SUBTAXTYPE : Output VAT Tally ERP 9 Release 4.93 TAXTYPE : VAT BASICTYPEOFDUTY : Additional Tax SUBTAXTYPE : Output VAT
