Bug in Tally Prime Edit Log

We have recently noticed an issue in Tally Prime Edit Log version and the same has been acknowledged by Tally Solutions, Bangalore.

IMPORTANT
This post applies to those who are using :

  • Tally Prime Edit Log
  • Tally Prime (and have enabled Edit log in the Tally Company)

Description of the Problem

The Sales Register Monthly Summary (or Purchase Register Monthly summary) displays the AMOUNT, but when we drill down to view the details, no entries are shown.

Steps to Reproduce the situation

  1. Create a new Company in Tally Prime Edit Log (or in Tally Prime enable Edit log)
  2. Import data using udiMagic
    • You can import data from any Standard template. Here, we are using Financial transactions.
    • Template Name: Vouchers-V11-Financial-Transactions-Basic.xls
  3. Next, view the entries in Sales Register in Tally Prime.
    • You should be able to view the summary and drill down to details also.
  4. Next, UNDO the entries using udiMagic.
    • In the udiMagic last screen, click the up-arrow button and enable/tick the Undo Entries option .
    • Next, click the Reimport button to UNDO / Remove the entries
    • This will remove the entries from Tally and Sales Register will now be blank. Everything works fine till now.
  5. Next, once again reimport the same Excel file.
    • After reimporting, notice that the Sales Register shows AMOUNT whereas when we drill down to view the details, no entries are shown.

SUMMARY

If you Undo / Delete entries in Tally Prime Edit Log and then Reimport the same data (with same unique ids), this problem occurs.

The aforesaid issue occurs only in Tally Prime Edit Log. [Issue: Entries are displayed in Monthly Sales Register but not displayed when we drill down].

We shall intimate our users as and when we get any updates from Tally Solutions, Bangalore.

  3. The FOREX figures are computed using the formula (BASECURRENCY_AMOUNT * ROE).
  4. As these automatically computed FOREX figures may differ (in decimals points) from the actual transaction figures, we have provided additional columns to specify the following :
