This template now supports the following features :

c. MRP not updated correctly in Tally ERP 9 - Now rectified.

OTHER CHANGEs
When you map a Standard excel template with your Custom excel file, the output file (XML tags) generated contains FROMROW as 2. i.e. it is presumed that the data in your custom file starts from row no 2.

udi-Magic v8.0 Release 3.5

We recently evaluated the udi-Magic Software by importing bulk records from Excel into Tally ERP 9. For your reference, here are the results of uploading a sample Excel sheet with 5200 Voucher records :

Map excel and import in Tally ERP 9

How to map your excel file and import it into Tally ERP 9?

Here's a video on how to map excel file and import it in Tally ERP 9

For reference, the steps are given underneath :

Steps to Map your Excel file
  1. Start udi-Magic converter
  2. Select the option Excel to Tally > Create a Custom template
  3. Select the files :
    • udi-Magic Standard Excel template
    • Your Excel file
  4. Map the columns
  5. Save the Mapping file

Steps to Import data into Tally
  1. Start Tally ERP 9 and Open a Company.
  2. Start udi-Magic software.
  3. Select the option Excel to Tally > Import data into Tally.
  4. Select the files
    • Your Excel file
    • Xml file (Mapping file generated in the mapping process)
  5. Click the Start button.

Description : Compatible with Tally ERP 9 Release 6.1.1

NEW FEATURES
udi-Magic v8.0 Release 3.4
 now supports Trade Discount feature which allows you to specify the discount value for each item in the invoice, and the discount value is considered as part of the assessable value of an item.

The Trade discount feature is available in the following Excel formats :
a. Vouchers-V8-Sales-Purchase-Basic.xls
b. Vouchers-V8-Sales-Purchase.xls

In addition to the Trade discount feature, some modifications are done in other templates as shown underneath.

The following new fields/features have been added in this template :

Field : IsAlternateUnitApplicable
Desc : This is useful when you are using alternate units in Tally ERP 9. You must specify Yes to use alternate units.

Values : Yes or No
Default Value : No

Remarks:
a. This option comes under "Other Settings"
b. You must use the EnableDisableFeatures sheet to show / display the columns for "Other Settings"

TEMPLATEs  (Modifications)

Vouchers-V8-Sales-Purchase.xls
The following new fields/features have been added in this template :

1. Group Names
This allows you to specify the Group/parent Name for Party Ledgers, Sales/Purchase and Taxes ledgers; and StockItems. The default values are :

Party Ledgers : Default group is Sundry Debtors (or Sundry Creditors)
Sales Ledgers : Default group is Sales Accounts
Purchase Ledgers : Default group is Purchase Accounts
Tax Ledgers : Default group is Duties & Taxes
StockItems : There is no default StockGroup (i.e. it is kept empty)

2. Tax Classification details (Override at Voucher level)
This feature allows you to specify / override the Tax-type and Tax-rates at the Voucher-level.

Notes
a. Tally ERP 9 allows you to define / specify the tax rates at different levels viz Ledger level; StockItem level; Company level etc.
b. If you are using Sales / Purchase with Inventory, then it is advised that you specify the tax-rates at the StockItem level.
c. If you are using Sales / Purchase without Inventory, then the tax-rates must be specified at the ledger level.
d. You can override the tax-type; tax-rate; taxable amount at the Voucher level using this feature.

3. Voucher Class
A new column has been kept to specify the Voucher class.
