We recently uploaded bulk records from Excel into different versions of Tally ERP 9.

Remarks:
a) We uploaded the same Excel file (5200 vouchers) into different releases of Tally ERP 9
b) It was seen that from Tally ERP 9 Release 5.3.3 onwards, the performance degraded considerably.

This issue is already noticed to Tally but still there is no solutions from Tally and not only on uploading from Excel to Tally, u can try with exporting data from Tally and import the same in a new company the speed is still slow for a month if vouchers having 5000 to 6000 and try to import it takes more than 1 hour even Hardware config which we have tested recently in Xexon Quade Core, 16 gb memory with 64 bit operating system. But till rel 4.93 there is no issue.
